2013 JCRTL/ORTL Contests
Drawing, Essay, & Oratory Contests
ORTL Short Film Contest

Participation in our chapter's Drawing Contest, Essay Contest, Oratory Contest, and ORTL's Short Film Contest is the first step to winning and moving on to compete at the state and national levels of competition.  Oregon Right to Life offers cash prizes to winners of the Oratory Contest. 

The first three contests all have the theme "Children, The Heart of America."  There is no theme for ORTL's Short Film Contest.

Drawing Contest

Drawing Contest Divisions & Rules:
        Kindergarten
        Grades 1-2
        Grades 3-5
        Grades 6-8
        Grades 9-10
        Grades 11-12
Drawing should incorporate contest theme.  All artwork must be original, and must be on paper no larger than 8.5" x 11".  Collages are considered original artistic expression.

Essay Contest
        Deadline:  March 6, 2013

Essay Contest Divisions & Rules:
        Grades 5-6            200-300 words
        Grades 7-9            300-400 words
        Grades 10-12       400-500 words
Essays will be judged on general organization, grammar, clarity of  message, originality, and incorporation of theme.

Oratory Contest
        Deadline for sign-up:         February 13, 2012
        Competition date:              Tuesday, March 5, 2013

Short Film Contest

Categories for Short Film Contest:
        Professional
                All Ages
        Amateur
                Adult (age 18 and older)
                Junior (ages 14-17)
                Youth (ages 10-13)
All films should be 3 minutes or less.  Submissions must be in DVD format only, and should include the length of the film, the name of the producer (individual, family, organization, etc.), and contact information(address, phone number, and email address)
