Jackson County Right to Life

Changing Hearts . . . Saving Lives

Operation Ultrasound

The Project
In the book "Why Pro-Life," by Randy Alcorn, Alcorn confirms that between 80% and 90% of potentially abortive young mothers chose to keep their babies after they were shown a 3D ultrasound photograph of their unborn child.  These statistics caused Jackson County Right to Life to realize that if we could provide potentially abortive young mothers with an ultrasound image of their unborn baby, we would have a high probability of saving their young babies.

In May, 2005, Phase 1 of Operation Ultrasound was successfully launched with a radio-thon on KDOV that raised over $15,000 in cash & pledges.  These funds were used to pay for basic 3D ultrasound sessions for pregnant women whom we believed to be considering abortion.  JCRTL partnered with Rogue Valley Pregnancy Resource Center & Pregnancy Care Center of Grants Pass to provide counseling & referrals for ultrasounds.  We also partnered with the hundreds of donors who provided the funds to make this project a reality, each of whom realized that every $30 donation had a good chance of saving a baby.

Phase 2 of Operation Ultrasound was the long-term marketing of the availability of this program to pregnant women in Southern Oregon.

Phase 3 of Operation Ultrasound began in Spring of 2008, as we entered a new partnership with Rogue Valley Pregnancy Resource Center.  Much of the remaining original donated funds from Phase 1 will be made available to RVPRC through a matching grant to help them purchase and operate a 3D ultrasound machine in their own facility.  Stay tuned to the latest news from Rogue Valley Pregnancy Resource Center.  This is a wonderful development, and we ask you to keep the success of this intention in your prayers.  Thank you all for your wonderful generosity!
